The AFP celebrates 72 Years of committed service. On 21 December, 2007, the Armed Forces of the Philippines will reach its 72 years of existence and continue to direct its energies to the task of nation building and the preservation of our democracy. The AFP has done a truly commendable job in the midst of trials within and outside of the organization. The occasion is also a time to pay tribute to the brave men and women of the Armed Forces who have dedicated their lives in service of the people. This year's theme is "The Soldier's Commitment: Patriotism, Democracy and Peace".
Highlight of the anniversary celebration is the traditional Parade-in-Review, tentative different presentations focusing on the role and accomplishments, and the distribution of awards to deserving AFP officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees who have given their outstanding contribution and support to the overall mission of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Prior to the anniversary proper, various programs and activities were conducted.
The anniversary program will be held at the Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City on December 21 with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
In the past, the Armed Forces has proven itself worthy of our people's trust and faith. The CSAFP Gen. Hermogenes Esperon Jr. assures the people that never fail them, and that their performance is credited to the entire Filipino nation.
