Human relations is part and parcel of our daily lives. It is everyone's desire to win the hearts and minds of other people. In fact, whether we like it or not, we must establish good and sound relationships that transcends to all walks of life.

Human relations itself is a display of the individual's character. The more people you deal with, the better person you are considered. It is likewise mandatory for an individual to be a role player in his own playing field because his status in society is defined by his actions.

Good human relation does not consider oneself above others but rather places the interest of the majority at the forefront. One must be able to identify lapses and must be ready to accept, consider and learn from it. At the outset, human relation it is a selfless action towards other people and to the community. It is part of our attitude as an individual no matter who we are and what we have or what we are capable of doing. Human relations mirrors our character and our whole being as a person.

One way of showing and letting other people feel that they are important and well-respected is through good human relations. You don't have to be somebody else just to establish friendship with others. You just have to be yourself without any pretension. Act the way you are and follow what righteous people do. In the end, you will win the hearts of the people.

As a public servant, human relations is a Must because we are dealing with people from all walks of life. We need their support and cooperation just like they need our protection for their safety against oppressors of the state like threat groups who are desperate to destroy our freedom. It is a two way process wherein both parties need each other, so to speak.

Embodied in the task of good human relations in community is the conduct of Civic Action, one of the pillars of Civil Military Operations (CMO). In this undertaking, medical and dental services are extended to hapless civilians living in remote and depressed barangays and war-torn areas. This is one means of giving care to our less fortunate brothers. This serves as a primary responsibility of the men-in-uniform to strive and cultivate good relations with the people whom they are sworn to serve and protect at all times. There are many components of human relations acts of kindness and selflessness that the soldier continues to give to our people.

In countless ways, whether he knows it or not, the soldier is the epitome of what good human relations is all about

We should always bear in mind that extending help and services to others must need our utmost courtesy and respect for dignity. Soldiery is a selfless committment so that others may live, and this is his bounded duty.
