recently, the Central Committee of the CPP announced that it boosts progress along the field of intensive and extensive guerilla warfare since the 1992 launching of the party's Second Great Rectification Movement. The purpose is to deepen and widen its mass base.
Sources say that the NPA is doubling-up its attempt to strengthen the worker-peasant alliance (mass-base), which is the very foundation of its revolution and comprisin g 90% of the bulk of Filipinos. Nonetheless, their efforts proved futile since the CPP/NPA cannot achieve the support of the mass base particularly in built-up areas.
Accordingly, the CPP gives more weight on the consolidation effort, while the NPAs are aggressively recruiting "progressive" individuals who are not yet enlisted in the strewn mass organizations that can give support to the underground movement and can be mobilized by way of participation in mass actions.
With the antiquity of deceptive strategy and disinformation campaign of the NPA, the guerilla fronts are bent on recruiting espacially the young, old and weak to become their supporters and sympathizers and for them to participate in joinin g mass actions even without a little bit of know-how on the issues raised by the revolutionary movement.
As a result, a swell of condemnation from the majority of the Filipinos were thrown against the CPP/NPA on its consolidation effort. Reports revealed that the NPA propaganda unit has failed in its massive attempt to force students, peasants and workers to learn the principle of communism as a gateway to the freedom of the oppressed.
It also noted that the CPP's Central Committee has drawn up another Three-Year Plan covering the period of 2002 to 2005 whereby it gives emphasis to raise the level of the people's war and make all around advances in the revolution.
