ACCOMPLISHMENTS
PCCBn remain focused and responsive in providing CEIS services for the PSG
particularly in support to various security operations for the President of the
Republic and First Family.
For the 1st semester of 2009 PCCBn was able to accomplished the operations and
maintenance of tactical communications equipment. We have completed the
installations of sixty nine (69) HF/SSB tactical radios, employed ninety nine
(99) UHF Conventional/mobile radio repeater and three hundred ninety five (395)
UHF handheld radios.
The Unit likewise supported the successful security operations of seventeen
(17) foreign engagements, one hundred twenty nine (129) Metro Manila engagements
and one hundred twenty eight (128) provincial engagements. These included the
diving activities of the President aimed at promoting the country’s marine
biodiversity at various diving sites at Tubbataha Reef, Coron Island, Palawan,
Apo Reef, Mindoro and Surigao area. During this event, LTC ANDALES SC (GSC)
PA, CO, PCCBn headed the signal personnel that boarded the BRP PAG-ASA (AT-25)
to ensure continuous communications support to the President even in the open
sea with the deployment of UHF Radio Repeater, mobile phone signal boosters and
satellite phones.
On Fixed Communication and AFPTSN, CO, PCCBn supervised the
activation of 50 AFP lines to interconnect the AFP DBX to the IP-PABX of the
Office of the President. Thus, the interconnection between the AFP DBX Switch
to the IP-PABX Switch of the OP was done on 291800H April 2009. Moreover, a
total of eighty eight (88) AFP lines and fourteen (14) PLDT lines were repaired,
and installed eight (8) AFP lines and two (2) PLDT lines. Likewise, five (5)
AFP lines and two (2) PLDT lines were transferred, and restored the MCMC-WESCOM,
WESMINCOM hotlines.
Further, re-splicing of
100 pairs cable was conducted at the New Executive Building (NEB) and Palace
Motorpool area to ensure telephone services at Malacaņang Complex.
Furthermore, fixing/fitting of sagged telephone cables/wires at PSG Officers
Lounge, Otis Gate and Area III (Malago) were undertaken.
