CEISSAFP Conducts Communications Interoperability
Seminar-Workshop Class 07 - 09 at HWESCOM

            CEISSAFP, in coordination with HWESCOM, conducted the Communications Interoperability Class 07-09, a two - day Seminar-Workshop which was attended by the Operations personnel, Pilots/Aviators and Signal Officers of the OPCOMD/OPCON units under WESCOM from 15-16 December 2009 at Camp General Artemio Ricarte, Puerto Princesa City. The Mobile Training Team (MTT) was headed by MAJ ARTHUR B PULMANO (SC) PA, Group Commander, 1CEISG, CEISSAFP, and assisted by LT MARVIN P MARIANO PN with representatives from the Major Services CEIS family: MAJ SAMUEL M ANGOT PAF, CPT LEO B CADUYAC (SC) PA and LT JONATHAN M SANTILLAN PN.

          The Communication Interoperability Seminar Workshop was conceptualized with the aim of raising the awareness of military planners and communication specialists in the battlefield on the importance of interoperability during joint and combined operations between units of the Major Services, Unified Commands and other government agencies and civilian organizations not only during Disaster Relief and Rescue Operations but also in time of insurgency operations. Since the assumption of BGEN RICARDO B BUTALID JR as CEISSAFP Commander, CEISSAFP took this as an advocacy and held similar seminar-workshop in all the unified commands.

            The participants were very much thankful that such an activity was conducted. For them, the activity served as a venue where they can share their field experiences on problems related to communications considering the importance of WESCOM AOR with its vast natural resources, world- class beach resorts, Malampaya Natural Gas Plant and the strategic Kalayaan Island Group.

            The activity concluded with a simple closing ceremony where the keynote Speaker was the very energetic Chief of the Unified Command Staff, WESCOM, CAPT ABRAHAM F CELZO PN (MNSA).

Participants of the Communications Interoperability Seminar-Workshop Class 07-09 were given scenarios to work with and present their outputs to a panel composed of Operations and CEIS Officers of OPCMND/OPCON units of WESCOM and to the other groups for critique and additional inputs.

As part of team building efforts, the mobile team of CEISSAFP and Major Services Representatives toke time out to visit the famous Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park at Palawan City.
