No Work Load is Heavy for a Soldier Who Loves to Serve His Countrymen

The members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines have shown their commitment and dedication in protecting the lives of our Kababayans especially during disasters and calamities.  The AFP was among the first to send troops for search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation.
Our soldiers endured the bad weather, performed their duty even without enough food and sleep as well as working beyond their limit.  Though some of our soldiers were also affected by the typhoon, they carried out their duty to their country first before serving themselves.  From that act alone, one can see a great sacrifice.  These valuable deeds of our soldiers together with our civilian employees and volunteers show the benevolent nature of Filipinos. In times of needs, all are extending their hand to lend support and help those who were badly affected.  Rescue efforts have been focused on the flooded vicinity.  Our soldiers are ready to give assistance in any way they can.  They were the tireless rescuers of the victims who caught the brunt of the typhoon.
Aid workers assisted by our soldiers took advantage of the improving weather to distribute food supplies, bring in medical missions and clear debris in areas slowly recovering from devastating floods. It is the time we are united in alleviating the effects of such calamity. Assistance of humanitarian efforts for typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng victims were sprouting everywhere.  The catastrophe has brought out the best concept of “volunteerism, giving and sharing” from all of us Filipinos.
