Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal - Arroyo bestowed on the National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) the Award of the Philippine Republic Presidential Unit Citation Badge during the ceremony commemorating the 74th Anniversary of the AFP last December 24, 2009 at the GHQ Grandstand, Camp Gen Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. Major General Reynaldo B Mapagu AFP, the Commander of NCRCOM received the award from the President.

MGEN REYNALDO B MAPAGU AFP took over as Commander of the National Capital Region Command (NCRCOM), Armed Forces of the Philippines in a Change of Command Ceremony at the NCRCOM Grandstand, Camp Gen Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City on 06 November 2009. MGEN MAPAGU replaced MGEN JOGY LEO L FOJAS AFP, who compulsory retired from the military service.

The Joint CMO Task Force (JCMOTF) - NCR of NCRCOM and the Philippine Navy (PN) led by its Flag Officer-in-Command (FOIC), VADM FERDINAND S GOLEZ AFP, held a Medical and Dental Mission for the residents of Barangay Bangkulasi, Navotas City last September 20, 2009. The mission was in support of the SOTWA operations of the 1st Company, Civil-Military Operations Group (CMOG), Philippine Marine Corps (PMC), PN, a unit under the operational control (OPCON) of JCMOTF-NCR.
