f. Lakbay Serbisyo Handog ng AFP Dental Service

          The AFP Dental Service, as the primary oral health care organization in the AFP dedicated to improving oral health, has initiated a nationwide campaign for oral health equality named: “Lakbay Serbisyo Handog Ng AFP Dental Service”. This program was launched last February 21, 2008 at the 5th Infantry Division, Gamu, Isabela.

          Lakbay Serbisyo is a series of programs covering preventive dental health education, practical oral health care instructions, oral health examination, toothbrushing drills, topical fluoride and pit & fissure sealants application and extraction of unsavable teeth. These would be carried out nationwide from as far as the 5th Infantry Division in Isabela down to the 1st Infantry Division in Mindanao as well as areas covering Jolo, in camps and areas where our troops and their dependents are located. An important goal in this first year of the campaign will be to help draw attention to the importance of Oral Health as essential to good overall health and well-being and sustain attention to the need to address the oral health disparities. The AFP Dental Society has taken on this challenge and is eager to surpass obstacles for overall dental care goals to be met.
