CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Benjamin R Madrigal Jr, and Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin N Lorenzana signed the memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) headed by Senator Richard J Gordon on Friday, 05 April 2019, at the Silid Lapu-Lapu, General Headquarters, here.
The MOA is for the joint collaborative efforts of the DND-AFP and PRC in various blood donation activities and the delivery of medical and welfare services in the event of mass casualties and injuries in times of emergencies and disasters.
"The MOA on blood partnership inks our commitment to actively organize and participate in regular blood donation activities for the Filipino people in need," Gen Madrigal said.
"Rest assured that the AFP, under the leadership of the DND is one with the Philippine Red Cross in its goal of providing quality safe blood and life-saving services for our countrymen," Gen Madrigal added.
The signatories were joined by Ms Elizabeth S Zavalla, Secretary General of the PRC, Col Robert Capulong, Senior Military Assistant to SND, and other AFP and PRC key officers.
