AFP Chief turns over a rescued Sea Eagle to PCSD
Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana turns over a rescued White Bellied Sea Eagle to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development on March 16 at Western Command headquarters, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
The rescued Eagle was named “Valor” by the AFP Chief, a recipient of Medal of Valor award, the highest military honor awarded to an AFP personnel.
“Valor” was seen to be in distress and in difficulty escaping the water when rescued by the Naval Special Operations Unit 10 personnel while conducting maritime patrol along the vicinity of Bacuit Bay adjacent to Cadlao Island, El Nido, Palawan.
The Eagle was immediately checked for gunshot wounds and other injuries but was fortunately found unharmed and in stable condition.
