CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City— The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through the AFP Reservist and Retiree Affairs Office (OJ9), held a press conference today, here, as part of the commemoration of the 45th National Reservist Week (NRW) 2024. This year's theme, “Tatak ng Laang Kawal para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” celebrates the invaluable contributions of the AFP Reservists in the country’s defense posture.
The upcoming events and activities were discussed, covering the period from August 1 to September 13, 2024, to be spearheaded by the Major Service’s Reserve Command (RESCOM), AFP Reserve Command (AFPRESCOM), and the Unified Commands (UCs) across various regions in the country. The culmination of the NRW 2024 is scheduled on September 14, 2024, to recognize the collaboration, dedication, and patriotism of AFP Reservists.
"We celebrate these unsung heroes and recognize that their contributions go beyond military service. Each reservist is a community leader, a skilled professional, and a dedicated family member. They inspire us all to contribute to our nation's welfare, showing that service to our country can take many forms," said MGen Joel Alejandro Nacnac, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, J9.
The NRW aims to showcase the capabilities of the reserve force and recognize their significant contributions to the AFP’s mandate.
