AFP Honors Newly Promoted Generals in Donning of Ranks Ceremony

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) celebrated the promotion of its senior leaders in a donning of ranks ceremony presided over by General Romeo S. Brawner Jr. PA, Chief of Staff, AFP, together with Lieutenant General Rommel P. Roldan PAF, Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, on August 22.

Lieutenant General Rey B. Alemania PA, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, J4, and Commander of the AFP Joint Sustainment Command, was promoted to three-star rank, while Major General Loreto B. Pasamonte PAF, Deputy Commander of the AFP Joint Sustainment Command, was elevated to two stars.

Also promoted to the one-star rank were senior officers who will soon take on new leadership assignments within the AFP. Brigadier General Jessie A. Banastao PAF is the incoming Chief of the Office of Strategic Studies and Strategy Management, AFP. BGen. Manolito F. Montiel PA will become the new Chief of the AFP Finance Center, while BGen. Prudencio A. Iddoba PA is the incoming Chief of Staff of the AFP Joint Sustainment Command. BGen. Michael A. Banua PA is set to assume as the new Deputy Commander of the Joint Special Operations Command, AFP. BGen. Nelson C. Aluad PA has been named the incoming Commandant of Cadets of the Philippine Military Academy, while BGen. Danilo E. Estrañero PA is designated as the incoming Adjutant General of the AFP.

In his remarks, General Brawner underscored the weight of responsibility that comes with higher rank. “The rank you carry is a solemn responsibility; each star represents the trust and confidence by our country, our people, and your fellow soldiers. It is a reminder that from this day forward much more will be expected of you not only in competence but also in character,” General Brawner said.

The ceremony served as a testament to the AFP’s recognition of leadership, competence, and dedication in its senior ranks, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to excellence in service to the nation.///
