AFP Installs New JTF-NCR Commander

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines formally installed BGen Eric Macaambac PN(M) as the new Joint Task Force National Capital (JTF-NCR) Commander in a Change of Command Ceremony presided over by AFP Chief of Staff, General Romeo Brawner Jr., on July 10, 2024, here.
Prior assumption, BGen Macaambac served as the 28th Commander of the 1st Marine Brigade, Philippine Marine Corps and the Commander of Naval Task Group Central, Joint Task Force Central, Western Mindanao Command.

BGen Macaambac is a proud member of the PMA “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992 and holds a Master’s Degree in Government Management at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. He succeeded MGen Larida PN(M) who assumed as AFP's Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, J3.

In his address, General Brawner praised the outgoing Commander, MGen Larida, for his dedicated service and significant contributions to JTF-NCR. He also highlighted BGen Macaambac's exemplary leadership and operational expertise and urged to be highly capable in service.

“I challenge you to embrace the changes that lie ahead, to serve and strengthen our readiness to face any challenge that may arise. We will also improve your capabilities so that you will be able to defend the whole National Capital Region,” said General Brawner.
