AFP PREPARES FOR 88TH ANNIVERSARY RITES

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The Armed Forces of the Philippines is all set in the celebration of its 88th anniversary of December 21 that will culminate in the parade and program with the Commander-in-Chief, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, as guest of honor and speaker.

A series of activities were held leading up to the anniversary proper, including the Simultaneous Wreath-Laying Ceremony and anniversary concert on December 15, Talakayang Mabini 2023: Policy and Strategic Studies Forum last November 27, and Anniversary Fun Run on December 7, among others. Earlier tomorrow, a Simultaneous Interfaith Prayer Service and Thanksgiving Mass will be held. This will be followed by the Simultaneous Flag-Raising and an awarding ceremony for valued stakeholders and partners of the military, dubbed as the Pagkakaisa Award. In the parade and program proper, a division-size dismounted and mounted contingents consisting of the AFP's newly acquired assets. A high-speed opener featuring the AFP's two FA-50 jets will signal the start of the program.
 
With this year's theme, "AFP@88: Rising over the Challenges in Service to the Nation," the activities are aimed at expressing the military's gratitude to the Filipino for their patronage and support, as well as showcase its progress towards becoming a world-class armed force that is a source of national pride.
