CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — The Commission on Appointments confirmed the ad interim appointments of 86 generals, flag officers, and senior military officers on June 4 in Pasay City, highlighting continued professional development within the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The confirmed promotions span a range of senior ranks reinforcing the AFP’s focus on operational readiness, strategic command capability, and institutional strength. The batch of newly promoted officers is led by MGen Francisco F Lorenzo Jr, Commander of AFP Education, Training and Doctrine Command.
The confirmed appointments included a total of 29 officers from the Philippine Army, consisting of 4 Major Generals, 6 Brigadier Generals, and 19 Colonels. From the Philippine Navy, 14 officers were promoted, including 1 Rear Admiral, 5 Commodores, and 8 Navy Captains. The Philippine Marine Corps had 6 officers confirmed, composed of 1 Major General, 1 Brigadier General and 4 Colonels. Meanwhile, the Philippine Air Force accounted for 34 officers, including 2 Brigadier Generals and 32 Colonels. In addition, 3 Colonels from specialized services—Medical Corps, Nurse Corps, and Dental Service—were also confirmed.
The confirmation of these ad interim appointments underscores the AFP’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of military professionalism and recognizes the exemplary service of its officers in advancing national defense and mission readiness.
