CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr joined key government officials and stakeholders in the launch of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) for the Metro Manila Subway Project’s Camp Aguinaldo Station (MMSP-CAS) on January 16.

Attended by Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, Undersecretary Jeremy Regino, Philippine National Railways General Manager, and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Philippines Chief Representative Mr. Takema Sakamoto, the launch marked a significant step in the development of the country’s first underground railway.

In his message, General Brawner highlighted how the Metro Manila Subway will transform travel for Filipinos,  and will provide a strategic advantage for the AFP.

“Our soldiers, our civilian staff and their families will have increased access to reliable transit, allowing us to respond with greater speed and efficiency during emergencies,” said the AFP Chief.

Once completed, the Metro Manila Subway, with its 17 stations including Camp Aguinaldo, will help ease congestion and improve urban mobility.

“This project is a bold statement to future generations. It tells them that we are not just addressing the present needs and challenges, but we are also laying firm foundations of a connected and sustainable future.” General Brawner stated. ///
