The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and United States Forces officially concluded the Cyber Defense Exercise (CYDEX) today, here, reinforcing the continued progress in the joint military partnership under Exercise Balikatan 40-25.
Conducted from April 21 to May 7, CYDEX brought together cybersecurity professionals and military personnel from both nations across multiple sites in the Philippines. The exercise was led by Colonel Joey T Fontiveros, Philippine CYDEX Director, and Major Plamin Rabino, U.S. CYDEX Director, who both underscored the importance of strengthening cyber defense cooperation in the face of evolving digital complexities.
CYDEX remains a key component of Exercise Balikatan 40-25, reflecting the growing emphasis on cybersecurity alongside traditional military operations in today’s increasingly dynamic and interconnected global security environment.
