CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - Military Officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and their dependents gathered in the annual Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Cavaliers’ Family Sports Fest held at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand on Saturday, November 26.
Organized by the PMA Alumni Association Inc., the event sought to promote camaraderie among PMA graduates and their families through a day of fun games and activities. It is also an opportunity for the alumni to unwind from work and dedicate a day with their dependents and colleagues.
The Department of National Defense Senior Undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr who is a member of PMA Class of 1988 attended as the guest of honor and speaker.
Also present were AFP Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro of PMA Class ‘88, PMAAAI President and CEO Joselito De Guzman of class ‘93, Vice Chairman Danilo Abinoja of class ‘74, and PMAAAI Chairman and CEO former Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Vidal Querol of class ‘73.
The sports fest is one of the most anticipated events by PMA alumni also called ‘cavaliers’ as it honors traditions forged through comradeship within the country’s premier military institution.
Grouped based on their companies during their cadet days-Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, and Hawk Company-the participants competed in various games with the goal of bagging the award for ‘best company’.
Prior to the sports fest proper, the PMAAAI conducted a fun bike run among cavaliers within Camp Aguinaldo. The event concluded with an awarding ceremony and the traditional singing of the PMA Alma Mater Song. (Photos by Donald Viluan/PAOAFP)
