VCSAFP Welcomes New AFP Medical Center Chief

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines formally welcomed Colonel Jonna D Dalaguit MC (GSC) as the new Chief of the AFP Medical Center in a Change of Command Ceremony presided over by AFP Vice Chief of Staff, LtGen Arthur M Cordura on September 11, 2024, at V. Luna Avenue, Quezon City.
Prior her assumption, Colonel Dalaguit served as Chief of the Victoriano Luna Medical Center and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Management Major in Security Development at the Development Academy of the Philippines and Health Aspect in Disaster Course at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. She succeeded Colonel Armand P Lacanilao MC (GSC), who served in an acting capacity.

Meanwhile, Colonel Lacanilao has served as Chief of Health Service Center of Southern Luzon and Deputy Chief of the AFP Medical Center. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Management with a major in Development and Security from the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies.

In his address, LtGen Cordura expressed optimism for Colonel Dalaguit's leadership in advancing the AFP Medical Center’s mission of delivering high-quality healthcare to the AFP community. He also lauded Colonel Lacanilao for his enduring service in the military medicine ensuring high standards of care.

The ceremony underscored the AFP’s steadfast commitment in supporting the invaluable contributions of medical professionals in delivering top-tier healthcare services that is crucial to the strength and readiness of the entire organization.
