Javier as the new WESCOM Commander.

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezton -- In recognition of operational excellence and decisive action in the fight against insurgency, General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), visited the Visayas Command (VISCOM) in Camp Lapu-Lapu, Lahug, Cebu City on April 24 to personally commend and award troops following the successful neutralization of armed insurgents in Negros Occidental.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) confirms that an armed encounter occurred on 19 April 2026 in Barangay Salamanca, Toboso, Negros Occidental between troops of the 79th Infantry “Masaligan” Battalion, under the 303rd Infantry Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, and members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in the Northern Negros area. The operation was launched based on verified reports from civilians on the presence of armed elements in the area.
