CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — The Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Gilbert I. Gapay is pleased with the result of Senate Hearing on the issue of Red-Tagging held on November 24 and said that the Communist Party of the Philippines can no longer deceive the public and cover up their malicious intent.

“It is now clear how the CPP-NPA-NDF conspire to continue their unlawful acts and terrorist ways as exposed by the resource persons today. The organization’s exploitation of issues and idealism affecting the vulnerable sectors has to stop now,” said General Gapay who virtually attended the hearing.

CAMP GENERAL EMILIO AGUINALDO, QUEZON CITY— The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations Major General Benedict Arevalo representing the AFP Chief of Staff General Gilbert Gapay together with National Task Force for COVID-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., led the send-off ceremony for the 25-man medical contingent of the AFP at Villamor Airbase on November 23, 2020.

Also in attendance were Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año and Deputy Chief Implementer for Visayas Retired Major General Melquiades Feliciano.

The contingent is composed of five teams of military doctors and nurses, and medical aides from the AFP Health Service Command, Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, and the Philippine Air Force.

AFP Vice Chief of Staff Collado retires

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – After 38 years of service, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Vice Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Gaudencio Collado Jr. formally retired from the military in a joint change of chief of office and retirement ceremony on Saturday, November 21.

The AFP Chief of Staff, General Gilbert Gapay, presided over the activity via virtual teleconference at his office while the ceremonies were held on-site at Tejeros Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers Country. Vice Admiral Collado turned over his post to the Commander of Western Command (WESCOM), Lieutenant General Erickson Gloria.

Over 265 Thousand rescued, relief missions continue

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reported a total of 265,339 individuals rescued in typhoon-affected provinces through continuous search, rescue and retrieval (SRR) operations as of Monday, November 16.

Government forces saved 1,078 lives from the dangerous flooding in Northern Luzon including the Cagayan Province while 263,444 individuals were rescued in Southern Luzon following the wrath of Typhoon Ulysses. SRR teams also helped 817 persons in the National Capital Region which was also affected by the recent typhoon.

AFP rescues 2,727 individuals from Typhoon Ulysses, launches “Tulong Bayanihan”

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday morning reported a total of 2,727 individuals that were rescued from the devastating effects caused by Typhoon Ulysses.

Among the rescued were 2,716 in the National Capital Region, Rizal Province and Bicol Region, and 11 who were injured in Camarines Sur. The military also retrieved eight (8) cadavers from Bicol, Region 4A and Zambales while it recorded nine (9) persons reportedly missing.
