CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – With the common objective to capacitate communities, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, J7, MGen Gabriel Viray III PA met with the delegates of the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus Experts’ Working Group (ADMM-Plus EWG) on Military Medicine on July 03, 2023 at the AFP Headquarters.
The said meeting is for the Final Site Survey of the Project Based Community Medical Deployment (PCMD) Medical Aid Provision (MAP) which endeavors to achieve One ASEAN, One Response in addressing challenges in the region.
A Multilateral Site Survey of Health and Medical Facilities was conducted in November last year in Nueva Ecija where the AFP and the ADMM-Plus EWG worked closely with the Local Government Units in preparation for the project implementation.
“As you finalize the assessment of identified locations in General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, to ensure the suitability and alignment to the objectives of PCMD and of the projects and activities you are planning for, let us bear in mind our common objective of building capacity and resiliency in the communities,” said MGen Viray III.
The ADMM-Plus is an ASEAN platform for its partner countries, called “plus countries,” in cooperating to strengthen security and defence cooperation for peace, stability, and development. It aims to achieve a faster response, mobilize greater resources, and establish stronger coordination to ensure ASEAN’s collective response to disasters.
“I would like to congratulate the team, the Co-Chairs, Brunei, and Australia for all their efforts in making sure PCMD MAP will be a success; our partners, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, and China, for showing their commitment by joining the site survey today; and all the other countries of ADMM Plus who in one way or the other have committed to support this project,” expressed MGen Viray III.///
