The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) paid tribute to MGen Joel Alejandro S Nacnac, Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, J9, in a joint Change of Chief of Office and Retirement Ceremony held on May 2, 2025, here. The ceremony was presided over by AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr.
A proud member of the Philippine Military Academy “Bigkis-Lahi” Class of 1990, MGen Nacnac held several key positions in both the Philippine Army and the AFP. Among his notable assignments were as AFP Internal Auditor and Director of the AFP Center for Law of Armed Conflict. He also holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Ateneo de Manila University and is a licensed attorney, having earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Baguio Colleges Foundation.
BGen Danilo I Dupiag, MGen Nacnac’s former assistant, now assumes the post in an acting capacity. BGen Dupiag has held various leadership roles, including Assistant Provost Marshal General and Command Inspector General of the Joint Task Force–National Capital Region. He earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Baguio and a Master’s Degree in Public Management, major in Development and Security.
In his remarks, General Brawner expressed deep appreciation for MGen Nacnac’s dedicated service, “Your leadership has strengthened the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, a vital arm of our force that ensures our Reservists remain ready and respected as essential defenders of our nation.”
He also encouraged BGen Dupiag to continue this legacy, “We are confident in your ability to build on MGen Nacnac’s outstanding work—to care for our Reservists and Retirees, and to further advance the AFP’s mission.”
