CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Andres C Centino commended the troops of the 48th Infantry ‘Guardians’ Battalion for its significant strides against the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs).
“I am pleased to note that we are successfully clearing your area from the insurgents. I express my commendation to you for being able to contribute to the mission of the AFP to ensure that we have secured communities all over the country,” he said.
The AFP Chief of Staff visited for the first time the home of the Guardians Battalion in Pantukan, Davao de Oro on Saturday, April 23. He was received by the officers
and enlisted personnel led by Lieutenant Colonel Enrique G Rafael.
The height of the insurgency in the unit's area of operations has been steadily declining due to its persistent focused military operations.
In the traditional ‘talk to troops’, General Centino urged the troops to maintain the momentum against the CTGs thus attaining the AFP’s mission of fostering lasting peace and inclusive progress across the nation.
“We shall continue to go after the remnants of the communist terrorist groups and make them totally leave this place and give up the fight against the government,” General Centino said.
As the AFP gained the highest trust and approval rating among government agencies in the survey by Publicus Asia, General Centino urged the troops to remain professional more than ever, reflecting the AFP’s core values of honor, service, and patriotism.
“We have gained the highest trust and approval from the public among government agencies. That can be attributed to our increasing state of discipline and equipment. We must repay this by providing our people with better professional service,” said General Centino.///(Photos by A2C Ted Castro PAF/PAOAFP)
