AFP Chief Joins ISA 25th Anniversary, Highlights Partnership for Good Governance

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr. joined the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) in celebrating its 25th Anniversary Event, themed “ISAng Bansa, ISAng Pangarap: National Summit for Public Governance,” held on November 6, 2025 at Mayuree Grand Ballroom, Dusit Thani Manila, Makati City.

In his speech, General Brawner highlighted the long-standing partnership between the AFP and ISA in promoting good governance and institutional transformation. He underscored the significance of the AFP Transformation Roadmap (AFPTR) and the AFPTR Institutionalization Pathway (AFPTRIP) as blueprints for reform, modernization, and sustained transparency within the military organization.

“As I reflect on ISA’s theme of legacy and nation-building, we are proud to say that ISA has been the AFP’s steadfast partner in championing good governance,” said General Brawner. “This partnership also underscores the AFP’s role beyond national defense and security. We go beyond the call of duty by aligning with ISA’s mission to instill excellence and integrity across our country’s institutions—contributing to the Philippines’ overall progress.”

General Brawner further emphasized that the AFP continues to strengthen its systems and strategies to ensure competence, transparency, and accountability in fulfilling its mission. “The AFP continuously equips itself to be competent in the performance of its duties and responsibilities, developing well-thought-out strategies that are clearly communicated to all personnel,” he added.

The AFP’s ongoing transformation journey reflects its steadfast commitment to becoming a professional, capable, and reliable armed force that the Filipino people can trust—one that not only safeguards national sovereignty but also actively contributes to nation-building and institutional integrity.
