CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) visited the valiant troops of the Joint Task Force Diamond dubbed as the ‘Diamond Troopers’ in Cagayan De Oro City, Wednesday.
Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro commended the men and women of the Joint Task Force Diamond for their exemplary achievements in protecting the peace and catalyzing development in their areas of operation.
“Joint Task Force Diamond has optimized its capabilities and managed its resources remarkably in ensuring that all its programs and goals support their primary mandate of securing Northern Mindanao and Caraga Region making them conducive to sustainable development,” he said.
The AFP Chief of Staff was welcomed by Major General Wilbur Mamawag, the Commander of JTF Diamond at the Headquarters, 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.
He was given updates on the current status of JTF Diamond’s peace and development programs during a command briefing with unit commanders.
During his visit, he congratulated the Diamond Troopers for their gains against the communist terrorist groups in the area, as well as inaugurated a vital infrastructure project in the headquarters.
He also took the opportunity to reiterate his priority thrusts that shall serve as the military organization’s guide in accomplishing its mandate and advancing its transformation journey.
“I convey my pride and appreciation of the remarkable dedication and resolve of our Diamond Troopers in keeping this part of Mindanao safe and paving the way for inclusive progress,” Lt. Gen. Bacarro said.///
