AFP Concludes Philippine Navy Drone Warfare Summit, Showcases Growing Role of UAS in Modern Warfare

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) successfully concluded the Philippine Navy Drone Warfare Summit 2025 with a closing ceremony that underscored the military’s commitment to innovation, cooperation, and self-reliance in defense technology, today, October 29.
 
Held at the Subic Bay, Convention Center in Subic, Zambales, the event featured live drone demonstrations that showcased the growing role of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in modern warfare and their potential to transform military operations across multiple domains.
 
AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S. Brawner Jr. graced the ceremony and hailed the summit as a milestone in the country’s defense modernization and pursuit of a Self-Reliant Defense Posture.
 
In his closing remarks, General Brawner reaffirmed this vision, stating: “I look forward to the day when Philippine-designed, Philippine-operated, and Philippine-maintained unmanned systems proudly fly our flag, safeguarding the sovereignty of our nation. Let us remain steadfast, courageous, and fully committed to protecting this sovereignty for generations to come.”///
