CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines, through the Gender and Development Office, conducted a hybrid Executive Briefing to engage members of the AFP GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) on the AFP’s mainstreaming initiatives on November 15 here at the General Headquarters.
The GAD Executive Briefing was participated by the AFP and Major Services GFPS and the Chairpersons of the GAD Focal Point Committee (GFPC) from GHQ units and offices, Unified Commands, and AFP-Wide Support and Separate Units, with resource speakers from the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) who discussed gender mainstreaming and strategies in the defense and security sector, and the Philippine National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security.
“I believe that you shall retain an open mind and strive to implement programs and policies for us to achieve our main objective – a GAD-responsive AFP that will serve as a role model to other organizations,“ said General Romeo S Brawner Jr, the Chief of Staff, AFP in a message delivered by The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, LtGen Charlton Sean M Gaerlan.///
