AFP Educational Benefit System Office holds Golf-for-a-Cause for more than 2,000 military orphans

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines through its Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO) conducted a golf-for-a-cause tournament dedicated to the dependents of Killed-in-Action (KIA) military personnel on March 01, 2023, at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club, Quezon City.

The activity, dubbed “F.O.R.E.: Fund for the Orphans’ Registration and Education,” aims to support the education of the grantees who are dependents of soldiers who sacrificed their lives protecting the peace in the country.

The AFPEBS-Morale, Welfare and Recreational Facilities and Other Business-like Instrumentalities (MWRFOBI) Committee, headed by The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, VAdm Rommel Anthony SD Reyes PN, initiated F.O.R.E. as part of the programs to provide stipends for more than 2,500 grantees who are KIA dependents. As of date, the AFPEBS is assisting more than 3,000 grantees in all educational levels under different educational benefit programs supported by the law, partner schools, and institutions.

"The FORE project honors the sacrifices of our gallant heroes by ensuring that the loved ones they left behind are being cared for and valued. With the immense positive impact that our shots shall make, I am certain that fulfillment and gratitude abound among us," shared The Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, J1, MGen Jose Maria R Cuerpo II PA as he represented the AFPEBS-MWRFOBI Chairperson.

MGen Cuerpo II, together with AFPEBSO Chief, Captain Ariel S Palisoc PN, also distributed awards to the attendees who showed outstanding performance during the tournament.

The AFP remains grateful to the stakeholders and sponsors who serve as partners in enhancing the morale and welfare of our soldiers and their families, and in fulfilling the commitment of “Leaving No Soldier’s Orphan Behind.”///(Photos by SN1 Viluan PN (Ret), PAOAFP)
