CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines Corps of Engineers (AFPCOE) marked its 89th Founding Anniversary on March 12, 2026 at Tejeros Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers’ Country, honoring the men and women whose work continues to build the backbone of the country’s defense capability.
Held under the theme “AFPCOE @ 89: Nagkakaisa para sa Matatag na Sandatahang Lakas ng Bagong Pilipinas,” the celebration highlighted the Corps’ vital role in supporting military operations, strengthening key facilities, and enabling mission readiness across the archipelago.
General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff, AFP, graced the occasion as guest of honor and speaker. Also present during the activity were Lt. Gen. Rommel P. Roldan PAF, Acting Vice Chief of Staff, AFP, and Maj. Gen. Jonjie C. Juguilon PA, Chief Engineer, AFP.
A highlight of the anniversary celebration was the recognition of outstanding personnel and stakeholders, including the Best Engineer Battalions, Best Enlisted Personnel, Best Civilian Human Resource, and Best AFPCOE Stakeholders, as well as the conferment of special awards to outstanding AFPCOE members.
In his message, General Brawner underscored the Corps’ enduring contribution. “For nearly nine decades, the Corps of Engineers has been a steady, dependable force behind mission accomplishment,” he said.
He also emphasized the importance of resilient military infrastructure in an archipelagic country. “An archipelagic nation requires resilient infrastructure; airfields, ports, camps, logistics hubs, and mobility corridors that allow our forces to operate effectively across our islands and maritime domain," he added.
The AFP joins the AFPCOE in celebrating 89 years of professionalism, technical excellence, and steadfast service in helping build a stronger and more mission-ready Armed Forces.///
