AFP Enhances Readiness in Northern Coast Counter-Landing Drill

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- Demonstrating its commitment to strengthening defense capabilities and maintaining operational readiness, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) conducted a Counter-Landing and Land Defense Exercise under the AFP Joint Exercise (AJEX) “DAGIT-PA” 09-2025 on November 13 at La Paz Sand Dunes, Laoag, Ilocos Norte.

Held in a strategic northern coastal area, the exercise highlighted the AFP’s proactive approach to training and its ability to execute integrated defense operations. In a rapid and coordinated display, joint AFP forces conducted a simulated coastal defense maneuver, showcasing seamless interoperability among ground, artillery, and armored units.

Supporting assets included 105mm howitzers, Sabrah light tanks, and V-150 light armored vehicles, ensuring a realistic and comprehensive training setting. Philippine National Police personnel also participated, contributing to medical and emergency response scenarios.

Through the exercise, the AFP reinforces its commitment to continuous preparedness, ensuring that every unit is trained, equipped, and ready to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity and uphold its sovereignty.
