CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) secured high rankings in virtual challenges during the Exercise Defense Cyber Marvel 3 (DCM3) held on February 10 to 16 at Marco Polo Hotel in Pasig City.

The AFP Cyber teams ranked 3rd, 4th, and 5th places out of 127 participating teams from other countries in the Capture The Flag (CTF) Challenge, and clinched the 3rd place in the Artificial Intelligence Challenge during DCM3 led by the United Kingdom (UK) Army.

Thirteen personnel from the AFP Cyber Group and Communications, Electronics, and Information Systems Service, AFP (CEISSAFP), represented the AFP. They collaborated with nineteen members of the UK Army to exchange knowledge and skills in the field of cyber defense.

The main venue of the DCM3 took place at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) in Tallinn, Estonia. It brought together defense and government agencies, industry partners, and NATO/Allied nations in the Indo-Pacific region. The exercise aimed to enhance global cooperation in cyberspace defense and strengthen partnerships among participating countries.

The training encompassed a wide range of activities, including familiarization with VPN tunnelling and Cyber Range Tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Challenges, Digital Forensic activities, security hardening procedures, Firewall configuration hardening, and Social Media Monitoring.

The impressive performance of the AFP Cyber teams in DCM3 highlights the military’s commitment to improve its cybersecurity efforts and fortify international alliances in the ever-changing security landscape. The AFP looks forward to future collaborations and exercises that would contribute to the nation's cyber capabilities and strengthen partnerships with allied nations.///
