CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City— The Armed Forces of the Philippines hosted a special screening of an award-winning film, “BUKAL,” which was graced by Senator Robin Padilla and LtGen Charlton Sean Gaerlan, the Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, on July 3, here.
The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of a desperate struggle between soldiers and rebels, which significantly portrays the realities faced by our soldiers and communities in conflict-stricken areas.
In his address, LtGen Gaerlan highlighted the significance of initiatives such as "BUKAL" in fostering empathy and understanding among different sectors of society. He commended the film for its authentic portrayal of the challenges faced by the AFP in ensuring peace and security amidst complex socio-political landscapes.
The film reflects the AFP’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote cultural exchange and dialogue, recognizing the role of art in reflecting and shaping our collective consciousness.
