CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) honored the distinguished career of Brigadier General George P Cabreros PA during a Retirement Ceremony, followed by the Change of Command of the Procurement Service, AFP, on February 19, 2026 at Tejeros Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers’ Country, CGEA, Quezon City.
Lieutenant General Jimmy D Larida PN(M), Vice Chief of Staff, AFP, presided over the event, which marked the culmination of BGen Cabreros’ decades of dedicated military service.
BGen Cabreros, a distinguished member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sambisig" Class of 1991, relinquished command of the Procurement Service, AFP, as Colonel Crisanto G Prado PA (MNSA) assumed leadership as the new Commander.
The Procurement Service, AFP, plays a critical role in sustaining the Armed Forces’ operational readiness, serving as the primary office responsible for the transparent and efficient acquisition of essential supplies, equipment, and services.
In his address, LtGen Larida commended the personnel of the Procurement Service for their technical expertise and the integrity they bring to their work, noting, “Your work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt across the entire Armed Forces.”
This dual ceremony of retirement and change of command underscores a longstanding AFP tradition that reinforces professionalism, accountability, and continuity within the organization.///
