CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), General Romeo S Brawner Jr., recognized the achievements of the AFP Lady Gunnar and AFP Cavaliers Basketball Team in a ceremony held on August 5, 2024, here.
The AFP Lady Gunnar and AFP Cavaliers Basketball Teams won as champions during the UNTV Volleyball League Season 2 and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Cup 2024, respectively. Both teams earned cash prizes from their respective tournaments, a sum that will be generously donated to the Victoriano Luna Medical Center and AFP Educational Benefit System Office as part of their commitment to supporting community health and welfare.
In his message, General Brawner expressed his pride in the teams' accomplishments and their contribution to a worthy cause. He also encouraged them to continue their athletic prowess and hard work to make a positive impact in the community.
“Sa kanilang tulong na ito makikita natin ang kabutihan ng kanilang mga puso. Kaya inaanyayahan ko ang lahat to engage in competitive sports. Let us support and encourage each other to strive for excellence in every endeavor, and bring honor to our beloved organization and country,” said General Brawner.
