CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - AFP Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro led the inauguration and blessing ceremony of the newly-completed TIKAS Projects inside the General Headquarters on Tuesday, October 25.
The TIKAS or "Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad" program is part of the concerted efforts of the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to shore up the defense and security capabilities of the AFP.
The newly improved and rehabilitated De Jesus Academic Building as well as the completion of the new Wellness Center of the Special Intelligence Training School (SITS) will serve as an essential hub for training and a unique place of convergence for officers, faculty, students, and guests. With a total floor area of 6,575 square meters, the rehabilitated academic building houses offices, conference rooms, classrooms, and a library. The SITS is the AFP's premier intelligence training institution.
"These newly improved and constructed facilities shall become the bastion of learning and professional growth, as well as a center for camaraderie and physical wellness for military and civilian intelligence practitioners," said Lt. Gen. Bacarro.
The Quezon City Second District Engineering Office, NCR of the DPWH implemented the TIKAS Project that started in December last year and was completed in August this year.
Present at the ceremony were Brigadier General Marceliano Teofilo, Chief of the Intelligence Service, AFP (ISAFP) and Director Loreta Malaluan, DPWH Regional Director for National Capital Region. ///
