AFP, Indian Government Strengthen Humanitarian Partnership Through Donation Turnover

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), in partnership with the Government of India, strengthened their humanitarian cooperation by facilitating the arrival and turnover of donated assistance on January 19, 2026, at Clark Air Base, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

The humanitarian cargo was unloaded after the necessary customs clearance was granted by the Bureau of Customs. This marked a key milestone in the coordinated delivery of international humanitarian assistance intended to support ongoing relief and public health efforts in the country.

Led by His Excellency Harsh Kumar Jain, Ambassador of India to the Philippines, the Indian aircrew were formally received by Major General Dennis G Estrella, Commander of the Philippine Air Force Air Logistics Command, together with representatives from various government agencies, including the Office of Civil Defense, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Health (DOH), and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

Preparations were simultaneously undertaken for the formal turnover ceremony scheduled the following day, underscoring the strong inter-agency coordination and shared commitment to ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of humanitarian support.

This activity highlights the AFP’s vital role in supporting international humanitarian assistance operations and strengthening defense and disaster response partnerships. The successful coordination reflects the Philippines’ enduring cooperation with the Government of India, in close partnership with concerned national government agencies, to advance humanitarian objectives and promote regional solidarity.
