CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through the AFP Systems Engineering and Modernization Office (AFPSEMO), in partnership with the Defense Technology and Research Industry of the Department of National Defense (DND), formally opened the Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRDP) Defense Industry Forum on October 9, here.
Representing AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr., AFP Vice Chief of Staff LtGen Jimmy D Larida emphasized the importance of strengthening local defense capabilities through sustained collaboration between the military, government, and industry partners. He was joined by MGen Ivan DR Papera, Chief of AFPSEMO.
The two-day forum brings together stakeholders from the defense industry, government agencies, and the military to explore and discuss opportunities for collaboration, capability-building, and investment under the SRDP program.
The SRDP Defense Industry Forum serves as a strategic platform to align government and industry initiatives in support of a resilient, self-sustaining defense industrial base for the country.
