AFP joins Send-Off Ceremony for President Marcos’ Vietnam State Visit

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Vice Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, LtGen Arthur Cordura PAF, joined the Send-Off Ceremony for President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr as he embarks on a two-day State Visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on January 29, 2024, at Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City. 

Also present during the ceremony were Philippine Air Force Commander, LtGen Stephen Parreño; Philippine Navy Flag-Officer-in-Command, VAdm Toribio Adaci Jr.; Philippine Army Vice Commander, MGen Leodevic Guinid Jr.; and Philippine National Police Chief, General Benjamin Acorda Jr.

The President is set to meet Vietnamese leaders to discuss cooperation and defense, security, trade and investments, education, tourism, and regional and multilateral issues of concern. 

“It is important to undertake my first State Visit of the year to Vietnam, our fellow ASEAN member, to reaffirm our commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations. Maritime Cooperation will be one of the cornerstones of the strategic partnership which we are going to forge, and that we hope to strengthen this aspect during my visit to promote peace and stability in our region. I am confident that this State Visit will bring our relations with Vietnam to greater heights,” said the President.///
