CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will use the canned goods worth P500,000 donated by San Miguel Foundation, Inc. to feed typhoon victims in Cebu Province through the AFP Mobile Kitchen.

The donations were transported to Mactan Air Base on December 30, 2021, via the Philippine Air Force C-130 aircraft. The canned goods will be prepared and cooked by the AFP Mobile Kitchen team currently deployed to serve typhoon-hit communities in Cebu.

These were among the donations by the San Miguel Foundation, Inc. to the AFP and Cebu LGU. The Foundation previously donated over P18 Million worth of relief goods to Maasin, Southern Leyte, to help its residents following the devastation caused by Typhoon Odette.

About 3,000 residents of Compostela, Cebu will be served free breakfast and dinner by the AFP Mobile Kitchen these coming weeks, which will be replicated in other affected communities in the province until the supply of the canned goods lasts.

The deployment of the AFP Mobile Kitchen is a joint effort by the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, OJ4; AFP Visayas Command; 14th Civil-Military Operations Battalion; and, the 3rd Civil Relations Group. It started its campaign to provide hot meals to typhoon victims last December 25, 2021, which so far has benefited about 3,500 residents in Barangays San Roque, Ermita, Pasil and Tejero, Cebu City./// (Photo by VISCOM)
