AFP, other agencies, stakeholders join Exercise Tempest Wind 2024 SMEE

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) together with law enforcement and government agencies, as well as the private sector participated in the Exercise Tempest Wind 2024 Whole of Nation Crisis Response Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) on July 29 to August 2, at Conrad Hotel, Pasay City.

The objective of the SMEE was to swiftly plan, coordinate, and execute counter-terrorism operations, applying the principles of whole-of-government and whole-of-nation approach.

Exercise Tempest Wind 2024 formally commenced through a Senior Leaders Bilateral Meeting with US Ambassador to the Philippines H. E. MaryKay L. Carlson as the keynote speaker on July 29. The Executive Secretary and Anti-Terrorism Council Chairperson Lucas P. Bersamin, and the National Security Adviser Eduardo M. Año was also in attendance.

Tempest Wind 2024, a bilateral counter-terrorism exercise between the Philippines and the United States, aims to enhance the joint operational capabilities and improve the readiness of participating forces, support agencies, and other stakeholders.

The AFP remains committed to enhancing interagency collaboration to ensure the nation's peace and security.
