CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) received care packages from the University of the Philippines Cadet Alumni Organization (UPCAO) during a Handover Ceremony conducted today, June 05, 2023 at the AFP Headquarters.
The packages were handed over by Ms. Maria Christina Cecelia Hernandez, Founder, UPCAO to MGen Gabriel C Viray III PA, Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, J7.
The UPCAO, through the Care Package Project, has been sending packages containing goods for AFP troops in the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG) in the West Philippine Sea, and school supplies for the children in Pag-asa Island since 2015.
The project expanded this year with the UPCAO, UP Diliman ROTC Corps of Cadets, and the UP Diliman ROTC Corps of Sponsors collecting donations for the packages which aim to boost the morale of the troops and communities in KIG, Samar, Leyte, and Lamitan, Basilan.
“The assorted items and care packages donated by UPCAO will leave a profound impact in the upliftment of the communities and the morale of the troops. Your contribution is a testament to the unwavering commitment of UPCAO to serving and protecting the Filipino people,” said MGen Viray III PA.///
