CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joined the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI) in its environmental advocacy through the conduct of “Akbay Dagat: Run for the Reefs” on May 24, here. The activity highlighted efforts to raise public awareness on marine conservation and promote the protection and preservation of the country’s marine ecosystems.
AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr. graced the event as Guest of Honor and Speaker. The event gathered AFP personnel, partner organizations, and civilian participants in support of initiatives promoting environmental preservation and national solidarity.
General Brawner emphasized that the event goes beyond fitness and recreation, highlighting how simple acts of unity can help advance advocacies. “What makes this activity meaningful is that it goes beyond fitness and recreation. It reminds us that even simple acts—like running together for a cause—can contribute to greater collective action,” he said.
