AFP welcomes new Chief ISAFP; DCS for Intelligence, J2

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held the Change of Chief of Office Ceremony for the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) for Intelligence, J2, and the Assumption of Command Ceremony of the Chief, Intelligence Service, AFP (ISAFP) on 13 February.

The ceremonies were presided over by The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, VAdm Rommel Anthony SD Reyes PN.

MGen Leonel M Nicolas PA relinquished his post as the DCS for Intelligence, J2 to assume the position of Chief, ISAFP. In his stint as J2, he contributed significantly to numerous victories in the AFP's internal security operations. He also served as commander of 102nd Infantry Brigade, Task Force Zamboanga, and the 10th and 5th Infantry Battalions of the 1st Infantry Division.

Meanwhile, BGen Ferdinand T Barandon PA, who was the Assistant DCS for Intelligence, AJ2, and has expertise in policy and capability development, strategic planning, and strategy management assumed the position of DCS for Intelligence, J2, in an acting capacity. He also served as commander of 403rd Infantry "Peacemaker" Brigade in Bukidnon.

"The AFP leadership places its full support in your capabilities to contribute to the growth of your respective units and offices and the AFP as a whole," said Vice Admiral Reyes as he welcomed the newly installed Chief ISAFP and the acting J2.///(Photos by PAOAFP)
