CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony welcoming the new The Internal Auditor (TIA) in Camp Aguinaldo on January 27, 2023.
The ceremony, which installed Brigadier General Joel Alejandro S Nacnac as the new TIA, was presided over by Lieutenant General Arthur M Cordura PAF, Vice Chief of Staff, AFP.
BGen Nacnac served as the Director of the AFP Center for Law of Armed Conflict. Prior to this, he was the Army Provost Marshal, chief of Morale, Welfare, and Development Division of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, OJ1; and commander of the 19th Infantry Battalion.
He replaced Colonel Rodyer B Dela Peña PN(M) who led the OTIA, AFP in an acting capacity.
On the same day, Major General Fernyl G Buca officially relinquished his duties and responsibilities as Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, J4 in a ceremony presided over by The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP Vice Admiral Rommel Anthony SD Reyes.
Major General Buca now serves as the new Commander of Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM). He is the first Air Force General to command NOLCOM replacing Lieutenant General Ernesto C Torres Jr on Wednesday, January 25.
Colonel Leo Edward Y Caranto, the current Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, J4, AFP took over as the acting J4.
He is a member of the PMA “Tanglaw Diwa” Class of 1992 and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration for Executives from Southwestern University.
Among the positions he previously held were Army Chief Ordnance and Chemical Services; Deputy of the Army’s Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4; and Director of Research and Development Center, Army Support Command.
