Chaplain Service conducts AFP Lenten Recollection, reminds lent as a time to reflect

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — The Office of the Chief Chaplain Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines (OTCCHS, AFP) facilitated AFP Lenten Recollection 2023, today at the AFP Headquarters.

Emphasizing the theme: "Towards a God-centered AFP through Operational Efficiency and Operational Effectiveness," the Chief of Staff, AFP General Andres C Centino PA, graced the activity. He thanked the Chaplain Service for facilitating the activity and reminded AFP personnel to take the season of lent as a time to think and reflect.

"I would like to commend the Office of the Chief Chaplain Service, AFP, for bringing the soldiers to God and God to soldiers and continuously facilitating recollections such as these that shall surely strengthen the moral and spiritual fiber of our personnel and forge deeper faith and connection to the Almighty," said the CSAFP.

As part of the values enhancement objectives of the OTCCHS, officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources joined the activity, led by the recollection facilitator Rev Msgr Pedro Gerardo O Santos, Parish Priest from St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Church, Makati.

To inspire the men and women of the AFP in line to become a God-centered organization, Msgr. Santos shared a meaningful insight saying, "It is love that will sustain you to become effective and efficient." ///(Photos by Pfc Carmelotes PN(M), PAOAFP)
