CSAFP Welcomes Royal Thai Navy Commander-in-Chief

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr., AFP Chief of Staff, welcomed Admiral Adoong Pan-lam, Commander-in-Chief, Royal Thai Navy, during his courtesy call on July 4, 2024, here.
In their meeting, General Brawner thanked Admiral Pan-lam for the Royal Thai Navy's continued military cooperation with the AFP. The two parties also exchanged insights on enhancing their maritime security capabilities through joint maritime exercises and defense training.

This military partnership is based on the 1997 Philippine-Thailand Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Military Cooperation. As founding members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), both parties reaffirmed their commitment to a rules-based international order to foster the region's prosperity.

This reflects the AFP’s efforts to bolster defense collaboration with like-minded nations to maintain stability and peace in Southeast Asia.
