The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) reaffirmed its commitment to democracy on April 29, as 190 personnel assigned at the AFP General Headquarters (GHQ) participated in Local Absentee Voting (LAV) held at the GHQ Firing Range Multipurpose Hall in Camp Aguinaldo.
The conduct of the LAV in GHQ was facilitated by the General Headquarters and Headquarters Support Command (HSC), with oversight from Mr. Rommel Matreo, Election Officer IV of the Quezon City 3rd District. The Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, and Philippine Navy likewise facilitated LAV in their respective headquarters and designated units nationwide.
Through LAV, AFP members assigned to election-related duties exercised their right to vote in advance, allowing them to fully perform their mandates on Election Day.
Despite the nature of their duties, AFP personnel continue to exemplify professionalism and non-partisanship in their support for the national electoral process. This initiative underscores the military’s steadfast commitment not only to national security but also to democratic participation.///
