Exercise Balikatan 39-24 showcases joint firepower

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – In a display of unparalleled interoperability and combined might, Philippine and US forces successfully conducted a maritime strike exercise as part of Balikatan 2024.
The maritime strike exercise involved the seamless integration of air, land, and naval assets, culminating in the simulated takedown of the BRP Lake Caliraya. Breathtaking footage captured the coordinated strike, showcasing the enhanced accuracy, teamwork, and advanced capabilities honed through this critical training.
 
This remarkable display not only underscores the AFP's dedication to excellence but also stands as a testament to the military’s commitment to its vision of becoming a world-class armed forces, sources of national pride.
 
For this activity, the AFP deployed the Philippine Navy’s BRP Jose Rizal (FF-150) and the Philippine Air Force’s 7th Tactical Fighter Squadron, which flew the FA-50 and AW-109. Additionally, they utilized SSM-700K C-Star anti-ship missiles and a fast attack interdiction craft armed with Spike missiles, to target the decommissioned BRP Lake Caliraya.///
