The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) through the Public Affairs Office, AFP (PAOAFP) recently conducted a Cascading Activity on the Freedom of Information (FOI) Program at the Visayas Command (VISCOM). The event aimed to enhance transparency, accountability, and public trust within the organization.
Led by Colonel Xerxes A Trinidad, Chief, PAOAFP the session underscored the critical importance of FOI protocols in ensuring accessible and responsibly managed information, thereby reinforcing good governance principles. Attendees gained vital insights into handling public information requests while safeguarding privacy and national security, in line with Executive Order No. 02, series of 2016.

Emphasizing VISCOM's dedication to the initiative, LtGen Fernando M Reyeg, VISCOM Commander, noted that the FOI Manual represents more than guidelines; it is a call to action for upholding democratic values and enhancing the connection between the AFP and the public.
